***THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS SO WATCH OUT!***

If you still haven’t seen Avengers: Age of Ultron I suggest you crawl out from the rock you’ve been living under and get your butt to the theaters! This movie is amazing!

What I Loved About the Film

Robert Downey Jr. is the man, and I love his characterization of Tony Stark in the Marvel films. In Avengers: Age of Ultron, you really get to see the hilarity of Stark in action. From the opening scene where he makes fun of Captain America for asking him to “watch his language” to his “I’m sorry” while fighting the Hulk, Iron Man truly shines in this film.

Another one of my favorites from the film is Quicksilver. Played by newcomer Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Quicksilver has the ability to run really, really fast. He also has a pretty awesome Russian accent in the film, which I loved. Unfortunately, Quicksilver’s screen time was cut short as he was killed after saving Hawkeye and a small child towards the end of the film. It’s possible that Johnson was only signed on for one film, which is why they had to kill him off. Who knows, though? Maybe he will return due to popular demand?

Ultron was pretty awesome too. Voiced by James Spader, the character had somewhat of a weird personality. A bit comical at times, and yet very serious in his demeanor. To me, he seemed a bit unstable as he was exposed to so much chaos that humanity has brought over the years, which is why he felt driven to “purge the planet”. The problem, of course, was that he focused entirely on the negative aspects of humanity while disregarding all the good that humanity has done. So the real question is, are we humans truly the problem or are we the solution to suffering? This struggle is best represented by the conversation towards the end of the film between he and Vision, who brings balance to the equation by focusing more on the good of humanity rather than the evil.
